SAN FRANCISCO — Google Inc. is apologizing for a racially offensive image of the first lady that appears at the top of the list when users search for pictures of Michelle Obama on its site.
Google placed a text ad above the image titled "Offensive Search Results" that states "Sometimes our search results can be offensive. We agree."
Users who then click on the ad are directed to a letter from Google that explains its results "can include disturbing content, even from innocuous queries" but notes that Google doesn't endorse content on these Web sites.

Michelle Obama Wears Naeem Khan and Desirée Rogers Wears Comme des Garçons to State Dinner
Yesterday, Barack and Michelle Obama received the Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his wife Gursharan Kaur at the White House. Later in the day, Michelle wore a skirt by Indian-American designer Rachel Roy to speak about that evening's State Dinner. For the event, she wore a dress by another Indian-American designer, Naeem Khan. The gown was no last-minute decision. Created in what sounds like a highly secure top secret State operation, Khan orchestrated the design with Ikram Goldman, the First Lady's unofficial stylist in Chicago. He had been asked to create something "Indian, chic, simple, but very glamorous." Khan submitted three or four gowns for the event, and Michelle made quite the extravagant choice. Mrs. O reports:

 Sea Angels, jewel squid and helmet jellies are among 17,000 new species found during 210 expeditions of the deep ocean for the International Census of Marine Life.
Beyond the reach of sunlight in the depths of the ocean thousands of new exotic creatures have been seen for the first time, using deep sea cameras.
The decade-long exploration by 300 of the world's top ocean scientists has revealed that life can survive in the planet's strangest and harshest habitat.
